PSI releases a new generation of ultra-low phase noise oscillators
The SLOOP range of Sapphire Loaded Cavity Oscillators.
These oscillators represent a new level of affordability in ultra-low phase noise microwave oscillators, with typical phase noise performance surpassing that of the best quartz based signal sources, and exhibiting superbly clean and low far from carrier noise.
Based on PSI proprietary High Q Sapphire resonator technology integrated in a unique Loop Architecture these Sapphire LOOP oscillators drive like a sports car.*

  • Low Phase Noise DRO

Low Cost Low Phase Noise Oscillator

Poseidon's expertise in ultra-low phase noise sapphire-loaded cavity oscillators is now brought to bear in high performance, low phase noise DROs.

    DRO Oscillator
The excellent phase noise performance offered by the PSI range of DROs make them suitable for applications including:

    • low-jitter communication systems
    • low cost reference oscillators for phase noise measurements
    • radar systems
    • digital radio (QAM)

  • Low Noise Divider Ensemble (LNDE)

PSI releases a new Low Noise Divider Ensemble

When the LNDE is driven by one of PSI's low phase noise sapphire oscillators these outputs can provide the lowest phase noise signals reported at these frequencies

  • PSI acknowledged by the Australian Department of Defence

On 27 March 2006 the Australian Department of Defence recognised Poseidon Scientific Instruments forPSI - Australian Defence Force its record of supply to the Australian Defence Organisation and the contribution it has made to the sustainment of capabilities of strategic importance to the Australian Defence Force.

  • PSI... why it lives and works in Western Australia

Perth, Western Australia, is the planet's most remote city. It enjoys a clean environment, and beautiful beaches.

If you are interested to learn more about where the lowest phase noise oscillators in the planet are researched, developed and built; read the recently published article by R.W. APPLE Jr, in the New York Times: "Out West, Aussie Style"

  • ODIN Supports ATE Integration
    Wednesday, November 25, 2009

An important aspect of any phase noise instrument is the integration with exisiting production test equipment. The latest release of the ODIN-320A firmware (v1.100) supports Automated Test Equipment (ATE) control for rapid automated measurements in a production environment or remote instrument operation for easy configuration of common measurements.

  • OD-103 Delay Line
    Wednesday, November 25, 2009

The OD-103 delay line works in conjunction with the ODIN-320 analyser to automate residual noise measurements on two-port devices.  Working together, the OD-103 and the ODIN-320 automatically measure all of the necessary parameters for phase noise measurement, such as conversion ratio, and then the OD-103 delay line automatically adjusts the phase length between its RF In and RF Out connectors to achieve phase quadrature at the ODIN receiver for precise phase noise measurements.  Thereby saving operator time.
